  • Support trans youth and their access to health care.
  • Hold the EHRC to account, that they protect the rights of vulnerable groups rather than eradicate rights.
  • Regulate mainstream news outlets against reporting misinformation and propagating transphobia.
  • End all practices of conversion therapy.
  • Protect the integrity of the Gender Recognition Act and Certificate.
  • Repeal the new Police strip-search Policy.
  • Campaign against disability benefit cuts.

Dear MP,

We have deep concern regarding the Supreme Court ruling of 16th April 2025, the interim Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) guidance of 25th April 2025. All of which are an intentional effort to limit the rights of trans people, and force them out of public life.

The EHRC in the last four years have consistently been extremely hostile to the rights of trans women. Their guidance suggests that trans people will be barred from using single-sex facilities in line with their identity and presentation, regardless of whether they have a Gender Recognition Certificate. While their guidance is not statuary, it has great impact, and we do not think it reflects the intended mandate of the Commission.

Trans individuals are more likely than cisgender individuals to be victims of violence. Evidence suggests that trans people are a vulnerable and oppressed group, and are increasingly becoming more isolated. For example, hate crimes of transgender people rose by 186% between 2018 – 2023.
