Trans Day of Remembrance (TDOR) is an annual observance on 20th November in memory of the trans+ people who lost their lives through acts of anti-trans violence and bigotry in the past year. With so much anti trans rhetoric, and many actively seeking to erase transgender people. It is so important that those we lose are remembered, and that we continue to fight for justice.
We have created this toolkit to support you to get started, or develop upon your existing practice.
Trans Day of Remembrance Prayer
God of limitless love,
we pray for all our trans* siblings,
and all who hold us in our struggle.
As we are mocked and seen as expendable,
transform our pain into comfort,
love into action, fear into strength,
and isolation into community.
We pray for a world where we no longer fear our safety,
where decisions are made is with,
and we know the joy of the Holy Spirit all the days of our lives.
Bless us, that we may live fully,
love wastefully,
and have courage to be all that God has created us to be.
Amen.
